Why Do Dreamers Dream?

Why do dreamers dream?

In sleep we make silent wishes to a mind willing to listen but unwilling to do.

We fall in love with the idea of doing something.

But we never actually do it.

Stepping forward is scary, for fear you will actually step backward.

So we stay put.

We do nothing.

We create ideas and ideals.

Entire worlds rise and fall in the course of one night.

Dreams are realities.

Realities are dreams.

Why can’t both be both?

Because without dreams reality would sit still, and without reality, balance would not exist.

Without balance, our towers fall and our seas sit at a slant.

Life becomes zero gravity.

The earth is no longer a planet, but a bubble, straining at its bursting point.

And if it did burst, reality would have nowhere to go.

Because dreams were lost, motivation died with the stars in your eyes.

Pity.
